Wax Advent Day 16

Today's melt is Spiked Eggnog- eggnog, nutmeg and bourbon. It's rich, creamy and spicy, just as eggnog should be. Yum!

Yesterday my hubby and I had lunch at the local greasy spoon called The Town Frosty. It's literally the only restaurant in our minuscule town of about 300, and it specializes in, burgers, fries and ice cream.
I usually love to get the chicken strips and fries basket; everything is fried to perfection. Yesterday they happened to be out of the chicken so I got my second favorite which is the bacon burger.
They are extremely tasty as burgers go; much fresher than the average fast food burger. Their simple dishes always hit the spot and taste of home to me. A meal at the Frosty wouldn't be complete without mixing up a little fry sauce which is a delicious dip made of ketchup and homemade ranch dressing. Add to that the colorful banter of the locals and staff and you've got a quintessential small town experience.

Do you have a particular restaurant that epitomizes "home" to you? What are your favorite local cuisine dishes?

  1. Oh yum!!! Looks good! I enjoy Fat Jacks here in Lakeland for that cozy home feel. Or Reececliff's. They serve home cooked meal types of things.
