Product: Review: Lake Providence Lodge

My first impressions are very favorable! They seem like a very customer oriented small business. I was surprised at how large the tubs are. I can probably get four melts out of each one; good value for $1.75 each. They included the prettiest maple leaf shaped freebie in Glazed Orange Cake, which is actually a scent I would want; yay! And it's LARGE! I also really like their packaging; the cute flannel tie on the plastic bag really goes with their log cabin theme. Ordered on Friday, received on Wednesday, so fairly quick shipping for Memorial Day weekend. If the throws are as strong as others have said they are, I will definitely be reordering!

Cold sniff thoughts:
Peach Cobbler:  Moderate, spiced peach, not detecting much of a bakery note. Nice overall.

Cake Shop: Moderate, vanilla and something else I can't quite put my finger on. Hope it is stronger vanilla/bakery when melting.

Pumpkin Butter: Strong, spicy pumpkin w/a hint of orange. Nice.

Heirloom Rose: Moderate, lovely fresh garden rose, but I do detect other florals/green/fresh scents as well. Hope it is more pure rose when melting.

Strawberry Fluff: YUM! My fave on colds sniff; smells like CP Strawberry Noel!  Strong.

Glazed Orange Cake: Strong, spiced orange w/slight bakery note. Really good freebie; my 2nd fave!

Product Review: Babyfoot Peel

I have been ordering jewelry and purses from this site wish.com which groups together a bunch of sellers from China with super low prices. For the most part I've been happy with my purchases, and if you don't mind waiting a few weeks to a month for shipping, there are some great deals to be had!

I've been interested in the Babyfoot product discussion on the board but didn't want to pay the $25 on Amazon. When I saw this product for $4 + $1 shipping, I had to jump on it, since it also had decent reviews. I will report back after I receive and use this. Here's the link in case anyone's interested. (Not affil.)
https://www.wish.com/m/search/Babyfoot

It came in a plain foil package with no logos, so idk if it was the original Babyfoot or not. The translated directions are hilarious. Have had it on for about 10 min; no discomfort or anything out of the ordinary, excepty feet are hot. Socks make it less awkward to walk around. Got a bit of the fluid on my hands and leg while applying and made sure to wash it off thoroughly, because I don't want anything else to peel. Will report back on the peeling process.

Book Review: Trapped Under The Sea

I began reading this book knowing the story relayed in it's pages was true, but I had never heard of this incident and these men before. I can't call them characters, certainly, because this was their lives; their real struggles and triumphs. I've always seeked out biographies and memoirs because although fiction and fantasy hold a special place in my heart, I've always found true stories to be more impactful. I must say, I gave Trapped Under The Sea five stars because although I just read this story nearly 16 years after it occurred and I cannot relate much to the lifestyle they lived and the jobs they did, I felt thoroughly engaged in this recounting, and a profound sadness for what everyone involved went through. Excellent writing kept the complex amount of details needed to understand the situation from being overly technical. This book was captivating from cover to cover.

I received this book for free from Blogging For Books in exchange for my honest review.

Book Review: The Art of Losing Yourself

received the book The Art Of Losing Yourself by Katie Ganshert for free in exchange for my honest review.

I honestly cannot say enough about this book. It is the best work of modern day set fiction I've read in quite awhile. What I loved most about it was that I found the characters instantly relatable; both complex and believable.
The Art of Losing Yourself took my breath away with its ability to portray the complex facets of human relationships in such a realistic, yet tender way. Ganshert’s writing creates a prism of perspectives into the lives of characters as deeply flawed as they are endearing.
Even though I may not completely understand what they are going through, the author showed me, page by page, until I felt like I traveled the path with them. I could almost feel their pain, it was so palpable.  The issues they dealt with are realistic (alcoholism, infertility and dementia). Through their eyes, we see pain, fear, anger, and a multitude of other emotions. But the most important thing we see? Healing. Carmen and Gracie are so realistic! They don’t sound like any other characters I have ever “met.” They are so broken and bruised by life, and yet that "splinter of hope" always perseveres.
A beautiful story of finding hope, finding faith, finding yourself and finding out what matters most in life. 5 stars!

Spotted: Spring Candles at Target

I just wanted to share these beautiful candles I saw at Target, all $12.99.

OOTD: Lilly Pulitzer for Target

So I did not go in search of Lilly for Target when it first came out. I was busy and people be crazy. This was actually my first visit to Tarjay since January, because Walmart was out of my face wash. I was delighted to find they put in a Starbucks, and even more delighted to find they had some Lilly stuff left! I had a sneaking suspicion the people in my small city are not as fashion rabid as the rest of the country and I found one picked over rack and a couple shelves. I asked an SA if it was busy on the day of the launch and she said it was pretty busy but she seemed surprised when I told her other stores had sold out within 10 minutes. There were several phone cases, a beach towel, some lawn chairs, votive holders, and other home decor. There were also a few toddler dresses, some tops in xs and s, a tunic in m, 2 pairs of leaf print pants in xs and s, and low and behold this gorgeous maxi dress IN MY SIZE!

Dress: Lilly for Target
Cardigan: J Crew, Thredup
Hat, bag: F21
Sandals: Walmart
Bangles: street vendor and dollar store

I must say, I love the print of this dress, and the fabric is nice; not to thin. I do not, however, love how the top half is constructed. It has a built in strapless bra that supports absolutely nothing. Good thing I had another strapless bra to wear with it, or the phrase "Calm your tits" could have been used literally.
I still love it though, lol!
